ACAP welcomes announcement from the Australian Government

The Australian Government has announced that all international students travelling to the country over the next eight weeks, commencing Wednesday 19 January 2022, will be entitled to a refund of their Australian visa application fee.

A student visa application currently costs $630, and this refund will apply to both new and returning students. All refunds will be organised post-arrival from the Department of Home Affairs.

Queensland changes quarantine requirements

In addition, effective from Saturday 22 February 2022, fully vaccinated international travellers arriving into Queensland will no longer be required to undertake managed quarantine. Instead they will need to be tested upon arrival and self-isolate until they receive a result.

This now means that fully vaccinated students with a valid student visa arriving into New South Wales, Victoria or Queensland do not need to quarantine upon arrival.
