Dr Lauren Poole (Née Kita)Lecturer
Lauren has been teaching within the fields of counselling and psychology for over ten years. She completed a PhD in 2013 and has lectured across various higher education institutions within the UK and Australia. Lauren has always been passionate about combining teaching with practice. She is particularly interested in person-centred therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness practices. In addition to counselling, Lauren is a trained Yoga Therapist and has developed and led group courses focusing on depression and anxiety.

Teaching and Coordination Responsibilities
Lauren has taught and coordinated several units in the Bachelor of Counselling course. She is currently unit coordinator for Contemporary Counselling Orientations and Research.

- Laura Pemberton – 2019 – An exploration of practitioners’ experiences using Gut Directed Hypnosis (GDH) techniques and the perceived impact upon client psychological wellbeing
Lauren has supervised several students through to completion of their Bachelor (Honours) in Psychology at Bournemouth University, UK.
